Taking Scrapbooking To The Next Level-Pt 2
by Cathy Scraps filed under Cricut Cartridges
Using Cricut fonts and a little bit of imagination a person can create some very interesting effects. The most common practice for someone using a Cricut machine and letters is to have it cut out some letters or words from the paper and then paste them to a scrapbook, birthday or Christmas card, or even a bulletin board. These Cricut fonts can be used to cut letters out of plane white paper or colored paper so the achieved look can vary widely just based on the type of paper you use.
There is no reason to use these letters cut out using Cricut fonts to simple words pasted on a scrapbook or birthday card. You can take these to a whole other level using some simple folding techniques. By simply folding the letter created using the Cricut machine in on itself and pasting either end to the inside of the card you can create letters which pop out as the page is turned or the card is opened. This simple technique can add a three dimensional look and feel to your birthday cards, Christmas cards, and your children’s scrapbooks.
The best part about Cricut fonts is that more are available than what comes with the Cricut machine by default. In fact virtually any type of font can be replicated using the Cricut machine provided you have the necessary Cricut cartridge. These cartridges are simple devices which tell the Cricut exactly how it should cut the paper out. Since it is a template most of these fonts can be increased in size and detail to suit the specific purpose you have in mind for your cut outs. You can make them considerably larger than standard or quite a bit smaller.
